The Glen is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to assist with the day-to-day accounting activities across our multi-facility campus. The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, preparing monthly billing statements, and assisting with other accounting functions.
Responsibilities as a Staff Accountant:
- Review and monitor financial accounting of each operation, reconciliation of accounts, preparation of adjustments to ensure accuracy of accounting, etc. Prepare standard monthly financial reports.
- Monitor cash balances daily, transfer funds as directed.
- Maintain fixed asset records of the organization.
- Monthly and annual reconciliation of donation records.
- Prepare work papers for audits of the financial records of the organization.
- Provide training and support to staff in accounting and financial reporting policies and procedures.
- Assist in operational and capital budget planning and preparation.
- Assist the Controller with compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations and reporting requirements related to financial.
- Prepare and review monthly billing statements to be distributed to Resident/RP for Independent Living and Assisted Living residents.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or related field. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in related field.
- Knowledge of tax, laws, regulations.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Must be people-oriented individual, have good communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
- Well organized and self-motivated.
- Computer skills appropriate to job functions
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to fulfill job requirements in a high-energy, high-traffic area.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 90 pounds.
- Extended periods of sitting, walking, typing, reaching, and bending
- Hand and finger dexterity to use computers and office equipment
